Gust-chan is the mascot character of the Gust Nagano Development Group. She first appeared on the Salburg online store operated by Gust Corporation through the 2000s. She appears in a number of Gust games such as Atelier Viorate: The Alchemist of Gramnad 2, Ar tonelico II, Augmented Reality Girls Trinary, Nights of Azure, and Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World.

She is frequently depicted as a intelligent and cunning entrepreneur who looks for a way to profit from others, like charging people after helping them, and often succeeding. However, she is also shown to be a good person at times.

Gust (Neptunia Series)[]

Her most well known appearance outside of Japan is Gust from the Neptunia series. However, she is considered a separate entity by the Japanese fandom.

She is classified in the series as a "Maker", which are human characters that are named after a gaming company/game series as a result of a collaboration between the company and Compile Heart. Being "Maker", she references a lot of Gust games, especially the Atelier series.

She only appeared in two games, being Hyperdimension Neptunia and its sequel/reboot, Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, and the manga Megami Tsuushin. However, due to Gust Corporation being bought by Koei Tecmo, she was replaced in the Re;Birth remakes of the games.
