Kilo Shiness is a supporting character in Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout and Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key.
Kilo is a member of the Soulspeaker clan of the Oren. She lives in the Underworld, fighting the Philuscha. Her base is near a portal close to Kurken Island.
She rescues Bos Brunnen when he is chased into the Underworld. Even after learning the truth, she holds no grudge against Bos, and gives him a badge given to warriors who've defeated a Philuscha to grant him strength. Bos in return feels deep respect and symphathy for Kilo, and wishes to set the errors of his family right to repay her. As the last remaining Oren in the area, Kilo is happy to finally speak with someone again when Ryza and co arrives.
In the Lila and Empel DLC episode, Lila has hinted that Kilo is much stronger than she is despite her frail appearance, but how Kilo actually takes out legions of Philuscha is never known.
She is mentioned in Atelier Ryza 2 but makes no official appearance in the game, except as one of the two Oren plushies used for decorating the Atelier, the other being Lila.
Kilo makes a return in Atelier Ryza 3 as the one responsible for finding Fi and reuniting him with Ryza in the Underworld Orim. Kilo then acts as a supporting character from that point forward and offers the player some quests that they can undertake. At the end of the story following the conclusion of the final boss, she and Bos get married which eases Bos's father who had been pressuring him. Kilo's appearance in Ryza 3 is mostly the same, only her hood is not on her head unlike the first game.
