Kugel Richter is a supporting character in Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg and Atelier Elie: The Alchemist of Salburg 2. He also appears in Marie & Elie: Two People's Atelier and Atelier Marie, Elie & Anis: Message on the Gentle Breeze.

Kugel spent most of his life in the Royal Guard, and had a long career as a knight. He spent years perfecting his technique with a lance, but noticed his skills started to diminish with age. Even after retiring from knighthood, Kugel continues to polish his abilities with a lance.

Although he is retired, he is far from relaxed. Unable to live down a live of excitement, Kugel became an adventurer.

Role[]

Atelier Marie[]

Marie is able to hire Kugel to accompany her to areas outside of Salburg, but he is very expensive to hire. His stats are very similar to those of Hallesch, and both characters battle using a lance. He is avaible to hire very early on in the game.

It's not well known that Kugel's true idenity is Kugel Schenk, the younger brother of Dio Schenk. After the two brothers got into an argument years ago, Kugel promptly changed his last name and cut his family ties.

If Kugel's friendship level reaches a high enough level, Kugel will come to Marie and reveal his past sibling troubles to her. Marie can create an item ("Smile to the World") for Kugel that may mend the broken relationship between the two brothers, and Kugel will reward her with 1500 silver.

Atelier Elie[]

In Atelier Elie, Kugel's name appears as 'Kugel Schenk', and Kugel has successfully managed to mend his relationship with his brother Dio Schenk

He is not a recruitable party member like he was in Atelier Marie, and is no longer associated with the knights. He has now joined the family business, and works at the tavern with his brother and niece Flea Schenk.

His role is very much the same in Atelier Marie, Elie & Anis.
