Peter Rietz is a character who appears in Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland.

Peter is a carriage driver who grew up in Alanya. He is the childhood friend of Melvia Siebel and Cecilia Helmold, the latter of who he has a crush on. He hates working more than he has to, and tends to complain about his job. He is also very easily intimidated and scares easily when somebody gives him a hard time.

Peter has a strong fondness for beautiful women and hatches various schemes to spend time in their company. He wishes to get rich quick so that he doesn't have to work as much.

Role[]

Atelier Totori[]

In Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, Peter provides carriage service from Alanya to the city of Arland and back again. Somewhat lazy in nature, he initially attempts to charge Totori and Gino an outrageous price. He is able to eventually provide transport at a reasonable price, after Totori receives her license. Marc is able to upgrade Peter's carriage so it is able to move much quicker.

In the game's last year (assuming the player has the extension), Peter asks Totori to find 8 women to compete in Alanya's Fishing Festival. The fishing festival turns out to be a swimsuit competition, with Peter as the main judge.

Atelier Meruru[]

In Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, Peter provides carriage service to the city of Arls for members of the Adventurer's Guild in Arland. These adventurers become playable characters to assist Princess Meruru.

Peter is searching for hot springs near the base of the volcano as his current 'get rich quick' scheme. If the hot spring is built, Peter's plan to peep on the girls is foiled when they leave for the hot springs without him after he sleeps in.

If the "Boy's Bath" ending is achieved, Peter ends up having to work in the men's baths, again missing out on his opportunity to peep.

At the end of the game, he mentions that he has a wife as well.
