Wilbell is a bright young witch who is a genius in the art of magic. She is trying to become a full fledged witch, and struggles to gain her great-great grandmother's approval. She is an incredibly determined person, but still remains optimistic and curious. She thinks of Ayesha as a distant relative, since witches and alchemists are sort of alike.
Wilbell is always trying to 'get rich fast', and tends to slack off, especially when it comes to her witch duties. She says that her true identity is a well kept secret, and that nobody is to know that she's a real witch. To most people, she's a "self proclaimed" witch.
She doesn't like to admit it, but Wilbell has difficulties flying on a broomstick. Unlike most witches, she is unsuccessful when it comes to flying around with ease. She dreams of one day being able to fly like other witches.
After the events of Atelier Ayesha, Wilbell continues to travel in order to improve her abilities as a witch. She returns as a playable character in Atelier Escha and Logy through purchase of downloadable content. In the events of Atelier Shallie, she is working on improving her power through contacting spirits.

Ayesha meets Wilbell during her first visit to Vierzeberg. She works in the city, helping people find lost items and selling magical items at the monthly bazaar.
After Ayesha loses her wallet, Wilbell is the one to return it to her. After an event on Vierzeberg Bridge, she becomes available as a party member. This makes Wilbell the second recruitable party member, and she can be found at Plaza Hill in Vierzeberg if the player wishes to recruit her.
She will teach Ayesha various things about alchemy throughout her friendship events. She sells magical items to Ayesha through the bazaar each month. Wilbell also has her own ending, if her friendship reaches a high enough level and certain conditions have been met. If Wilbell is the character with the highest friendship in the third year of the game when Ayesha's birthday event occurs, the player will receive a Floral Staff as a gift from Wilbell.
Atelier Escha & Logy
Wilbell is an apprentice magician travelling to various towns to improve her skills. Her goal is to meet the various spirits of the world and form contracts with them. She also looks after and travels with Nio. She still keeps her identity as a witch secret, but she reveals, and even proves it, to Escha and Logy.
Wilbell is introduced when Escha and Logy are gathering ingredients in the nearby forest for the first assignment. Wilbell and Escha appears to be already familiar with each other, but it was her first time meeting Logy. Wilbell also tells him that a young male alchemist is rare, as she thought they all were middle-aged men with difficult faces.
Displeased with that Logy doesn't seem to believe that she is a magician, she decides to show both Escha and Logy magic in an event. She asks them to gather all burnable paper in the area, and once they have gathered them she lights them all on fire with magic. Seeing this event will grant the trophy "私が魔法使い" (Watashi ga mahōtsukai, which literally means "I am a magic user/magician"; "I'm a Magician" for the U.S. release). However, Wilbell has trouble putting the fire out resulting in a slight panic and confusion between the three. Since she is not very good with water magic yet, she cannot put out the fire, and eventually Logy goes to fetch water.
Several events with Wilbell can occur at Duke's bar, where Wilbell sometimes perform conjuring trick shows. Her shows are, however, never seen as Escha and Logy enter the bar when the shows are already over. Several events with Wilbell also revolves around creating sweets with magic.
Wilbell also tells Escha and Logy about the spirit, Fire Ruler, when they are looking for ingredients for the airship engine, and also helps them find a way to calm down the spirit.
Wilbell can usually be found in the "Urban Areas" part of Corseit. Wilbell is available as a playable party member through purchase of downloadable content since 30th July, 2013 and on. The same downloadable content will also add several new events to the game. Wilbell will join the party after an event taking place on the square, as from the second period and thirty days after an event with talking to Wilbell in the urban areas.
She is a traveling magician who is seeking to contact spirits. Wilbell coincidentally helps out Shallotte, who she originally thought was an alchemist. Shallotte ends up admiring Wilbell, who becomes her mentor after certain events. At first, she tries to keep it a secret that she isn't really an alchemist.
Wilbell has a strong fear of the Water Spirit as it is the strongest of the other spirits, but after being encouraged by Shallotte, she faces the spirit in battle. After defeating the spirit, she makes a contract with them and sees one of their memories. Making contracts with spirits allows her to harness their power and use powerful magic.
Although nearly 25 years old, Wilbell still has a youthful apperance and a young demenour. She tries to act her age, but this usually backfires. She also has a bit of difficulty to speaking Rosemia as she reminds her of someone she knows.
